Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to learn the preoperative surgical care and preoperative care and basic aspects of the patient's postoperative care.
Program
- The student knows the concepts of perioperative care
- The student knows the Day Surgery
- The student knows the classification of surgery
- The student knows the underlying concepts of surgical stress syndrome and the pathophysiological developmental modalities
- The student knows the aspects of preoperative patient information and informed consent
- The student knows the risk of operative and infectious disease
• The student knows the basic concepts on the perioperative management of pharmacological therapy and phytotherapy
- The student knows the physical preparation for surgery, in particular:
* the preparation of the skin
-* oral cavity hygiene and nasal decontamination
* The student knows the basic concepts of antibiotic prophylaxis
* Intestinal preparation
* smoking suspension
* preoperative feeding
- The student knows the prevention of thromboembolic complications
- The student knows the aspects of attention to the patient's space and intimacy
- The student knows the basic concepts of patient surveillance and vigilance in postoperative care
- The student knows the principles of early mobilization
- The student knows the pathophysiology that is at the basis of the healing of the surgical wound and the scrupulous use of the drains, probes and catheters.
- Observations of postoperative pain, postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV), postoperative drinking and post-operative ileus (POI).
- The discharge from the hospital of the operated person
