Learning outcomes

The aim of the course is to provide knowledge about anesthesiological procedures in obstetrics and gynecology, including analgesia during labor

Program

General anesthesia: history and modern techniques of general anesthesia in obstetrics and gynecology. Airway management in the pregnant patient. Complications of general anesthesia. Postoperative pain treatment after cesarean section

Pain: pathophysiology, pain pathways, pain glossary and classification. Pain treatment: techniques and drugs. Indications, contraindications and complications.

Locoregional anesthesia: spinal and epidural anesthesia in caesarean section. Analgesia during labor.

Examination Methods

Written examination. The test consists of multiple choice- (2 points if correct, 0 points if no correct, fractonly one valid answer) and open questions (from 0 to 2 points according to the accuracy of the response)
