Learning objectives
Provide basic knowledge regarding childhood neuropsychiatric pathologies, the methodology of musculoskeletal and neurological physiotherapy in developmental age, as well as habilitative/rehabilitative and psychomotor methodologies in development 0-6 years. MODULE: INFANT NEUROPSYCHIATRIC PATOLOGIES IN PHYSIOTHERAPY Know the major patterns of motor development and their influence on physical therapy practice. Know the etiopathogenesis, clinical qyadro, pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies, of major childhood neuropsychiatric disorders such as PCI, spina bifida, neuromuscular diseases, dyspraxias, epilepsies, and pervasive developmental disorders. To know the impact of these conditions on ontogenetic development on the sensory-motor, affective-relational, cognitive-communicative sides. MODULE: PEDIATRIC PATHOLOGIES IN PHYSIOTHERAPY To know the main perinatal problems - such as congenital dislocation and child behavior. To know the role of the different actors of the pediatric rehabilitation team, the family, the school, the network resources in the rehabilitation process of the child. To know the definition of "family-centered intervention", the schema and representation in disabilities with neurological damage, for the collection of perceptual information, for their processing and subsequent representation. METHODOLOGY OF MUSCULOSKELETRIC AND NEUROLOGICAL PHYSIOTHERAPY IN ADULT AGE Know the specificity of physiotherapy in pediatric age, for the musculoskeletal, cardio-pulmonary, central and peripheral nervous systems. To know the principles and methods of physiotherapy intervention in the principal pathologies of the developmental age. Know the methodology of treatment of childhood disabilities and know how to set up a physiotherapy program. Identify and propose aids and orthoses. Know the basic elements of post-surgical physiotherapy treatment (functional surgery). MODULE: COGNITION, MOVEMENT AND REHABILITATION IN PHYSICAL THERAPY. Provide knowledge about cognition and ideomotor developmental stages, perception and the interaction between perception and action in child development, the difference between child and adult dyspractive disorders and their interaction with the functional motor recovery of the person. Also know the difference between dyspraxic disorder in the child and apraxic disorder in the adult and their interaction with the person's functional motor recovery and other cognitive disorders that interact with the motor aspects of the neurological subject and affect the outcome.
