The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. Public holidays and University closures are also indicated. The academic year normally begins on 1 October each year and ends on 30 September of the following year.

Learning outcomes
Acquiring knowledge on the main elements of the pathophysiology of the sensorimotor system and the main neurological syndromes. Acquiring knowledge and basic skills on neurological semiotics (sensory and motor system, pain, consciousness disorders, main cognitive signs and symptoms, main neurological syndromes).
Program
The anatomo-functional features of the nervous system as the basis for the understanding of neurological signs and symptoms. The mechanisms of plasticity of the central nervous system and their role in the pathophysiology of neurological damage and recovery.
Elements of physiology of the peripheral nervous system. Pathophysiology of peripheral nervous system, motor unit and the neuromuscular junction.
Basic concepts on clinical neurophysiopathology.
Introduction to neurological semiotics. Medical history and neurological examination.
Semiotics of posture,, balance and gait. Semiotics of the cranial nerves. Semiotics of the somatosensory system and the nociceptive system. The superficial and deep reflexes.
The semiotics of cognitive disorders (aphasia, agnosia, apraxia, memory disorders).
Semiotics of the main neurological syndromes and diseases (stroke, Parkinson's disease and other extrapyramidal syndromes). Elements of physiology and pathophysiology of pain and clinics of neuropathic pain.
