Learning objectives

Use knowledge acquired from frontal lessons in the planning of the physiotherapy process on real clinical cases, by means of videotapes, paper, simulated cases with patients affected by musculoskeletal or neurological pathologies. Develop clinical reasoning from data collection to planning and implementation of physiotherapy intervention. Organize therapeutic exercises by taking into account the main aspects (e.g. biomechanics, communication, education and others) and applying basic manual therapy techniques.

Prerequisites and basic notions

Contents of the lectures relating to the 1st year of studies (especially with reference to the MED48 lectures).
Contents of the lectures relating to the 1st semester of the 2nd year of studies (especially with reference to the MED48 lectures).

Program

With respect to the various clinical cases presented: perform postural alignment, postural transitions and patient transfers; perform the objective examination and functional assessment according to the proposed scales/tools; identify priority objectives; test treatment proposals.

Didactic methods

Demonstration by the instructor and subsequent supervised practical exercises in small groups; viewing of videos; reasoning on clinical cases.

Learning assessment procedures

Attendance at the workshop is mandatory for 100% of the scheduled hours. Any missed absences and/or gaps in individual skills must be agreed upon with the instructor. The student's level will be assessed on an ongoing basis for final approval/rejection.

Students with disabilities or specific learning disorders (SLD), who intend to request the adaptation of the exam, must follow the instructions given HERE

Evaluation criteria

Ongoing monitoring of active participation and skills learned during the proposed activities.

Criteria for the composition of the final grade

The final grade is dichotomous:
"approved" or "not approved".
