The general objective of the course is providing knowledge about the cognitive base of the linguistic process and about the connection between language and perception, memory and attention.
We will analyze, also, some language disorders.

The attention of the course is focused on cognitive aspects of the linguistic elaboration.
Main topics
- Words and their role in the cognitive organization of the language;
- Production of the oral message and the steps of the conceptualization, grammatical formulation and conceptual understanding;
- Understanding the oral message and stages of the acustic decoding, lexical and grammatical comprehension and conceptual understanding;
- Reading and processes of recognition;
- Writing and processes of the motor coordination.
We will introduce some disorders of the language (evolutive disorders and acquired ones).
