Learning objectives
The course aims to provide basic knowledge of speech therapy, of the profession of speech therapist with the related deontological and ethical characteristics, of basic knowledge of communication and human language, with correlation to cognitive functions. MODULE GENERAL SPEECH THERAPY The course aims to provide: - historical notes on the history of speech therapy in Italy and Europe: birth and evolution; - a description of the professional profile and the areas of speech therapy; - the role of the speech therapist in the field of prevention, habilitation-rehabilitation, education, re-education, monitoring and counselling. MODULE SEMIOTICS OF COMMUNICATION AND LANGUAGE The module aims to provide and describe the general aspects of human communication and language, with particular attention to the physiology of vocal production, describing the functioning of the phono-articulatory organs, auditory perception and how the CNS intervenes in this process. The student also acquires some basic knowledge of the relationship between vocality and drive, vocality and enjoyment, as it has been conceived by psychoanalysis. MODULE DEONTOLOGY IN SPEECH THERAPY Starting from the analysis of the figure of the Speech Therapist in the panorama of Healthcare and Healthcare Professionals in Italy, the module aims to provide students with a detailed profile of the conceptual, cultural and normative bases of the deontological and ethical norms of the Speech Therapist. Students will be able to orient themselves in the issues relating to the relationships of Professional Deontology with the Code of Ethics of the Speech Therapist, with professional responsibility, with the conditions of legitimate exercise of the profession, with the management of Clinical Risk in Speech Therapy. MODULE GENERAL PSYCHOLOGY Neurobiological and neurophysiological correlates of human cognitive functions. Neuropsychological evidence of cognitive function deficits following focal brain lesions.
