Learning objectives

The course aims to provide the knowledge to evaluate the dynamics of growth and development of the child, describe delays, language acquisition and learning disorders, the main reference nosological classification systems, for the management and planning of rehabilitation intervention. Basic knowledge is also provided regarding verbal fluency disorders. MODULE NEUROPSYCHIATRY OF LEARNING DISORDERS The module aims to provide knowledge of specific learning disorders, their comorbidities and current legislation. At the end of the course, the student must have acquired knowledge regarding the guidelines for carrying out individualized rehabilitation and educational interventions as well as for using compensatory tools and applying dispensatory measures. MODULE SPEECH THERAPY OF LEARNING DISORDERS The module aims to provide knowledge of the main evolutionary and neuropsychological models relating to basic school skills; knowledge of the prerequisites for school learning; the definition and characteristics of DSA (dyslexia, dysorthography, dyscalculia and dysgraphia); knowledge of the Guidelines relating to the evaluation and rehabilitation protocols of DSA, knowledge of the indications for the rehabilitation treatment of DSA. MODULE SPEECH THERAPY FOR LANGUAGE DISORDERS The module aims to provide the Student with the fundamental knowledge to be able to distinguish a picture of language delay from that of language disorder, having a clear distinction between primary and secondary language disorder. The Student will also be able to carry out an adequate speech therapy assessment, in order to analyze the different linguistic levels, to identify deficient or physiological elements, so as to be able to possibly draw up a correct speech therapy assessment, including a rehabilitation program. He will acquire the knowledge necessary to choose the best rehabilitation methodologies currently in existence, accompanied by evidence of effectiveness. MODULE SPEECH THERAPY FOR VERBAL FLUENCY DISORDERS The module aims to provide the basis for the classification of fluency disorder with onset in childhood. Students will be able to understand the covert and over characteristics of stuttering and the related assessment and treatment tools, also through the integration of practical exercises. MODULE PHONIATRY IN DEVELOPMENTAL AGE The module aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to understand the diagnostic-therapeutic acts pertaining to phoniatrics, to present the theoretical principles and neural bases of language learning, to understand congenital and acquired language deficits, as well as notions regarding human communication in all its forms and to illustrate the various pathologies that can compromise it: disorders of the voice, fluency, language, hearing and swallowing.
