The course aims to provide knowledge of the main neurological syndromes in relation to the site of the damage and to develop in students the ability to implement speech therapy assessment and a communicative-linguistic and cognitive rehabilitation program, within an appropriate relationship with users and family members. MODULE SPEECH THERAPY FOR APHASIC AND DYSARTHRIC DISORDERS The course aims to provide students with the theoretical and practical knowledge necessary to contribute to the rehabilitation project for the person with aphasia or dysarthria through specific speech therapy intervention programs, to apply methodologies of analysis and interpretation of health needs through observation procedures to obtain subjective and objective quantitative-qualitative information useful for identifying rehabilitation objectives, knowing how to carry out speech therapy counseling with the person with aphasia/dysarthria, the caregiver and the family. MODULE PHYSICAL MEDICINE REHABILITATION FR IN THE ADULT NEUROLOGICAL PATIENT The module aims to provide knowledge related to the global rehabilitation management of the adult neurological patient in a multidisciplinary perspective. Particular attention will be paid to the principles of neurological function recovery. MODULE COGNITIVE REHABILITATION The module aims to provide basic knowledge for the cognitive rehabilitation of neurological patients in an interdisciplinary perspective in which the speech therapist is inserted. Some useful ideas will be provided to understand the main cognitive problems and the methods of rehabilitation of the same that involve the team and that the speech therapist is therefore called to know. MODULE CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY The module aims to provide a historical-methodological matrix of the clinical approach in psychology, offer some elements of psychodiagnostics, accompany students in equipping themselves with communication and relational tools useful for managing the relationship with users and their families. MODULE NEUROANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY OF CORTICAL FUNCTIONS The module aims to provide knowledge regarding: Anatomical and functional organization of the Central and Peripheral Nervous System; Anatomical-clinical correlations; diagnosis of the location of the main neurological syndromes of particular importance for speech therapists. The course will emphasize the aspects of clinical anatomy and semeiotics of the main neuro-cognitive domains and cranial nerves, trying to provide elements for the physiopathological understanding of adult neurological diseases of interest to the speech therapist (cerebrovascular diseases, dementia, motor neuron diseases, parkinsonisms).
