Learning outcomes
Il corso mira a fornire agli studenti competenze linguistiche specifiche nella comprensione e produzione orale e scritta di testi di carattere medico-scientifico, con particolare attenzione alla dimensione lessicale, sintattica e retorico-pragmatica dell’inglese scientifico. L’attività didattica offre agli studenti gli strumenti linguistici per sostenere inoltre un dialogo con il paziente/utente e conoscere il panorama lessicale specifico per la letteratura scientifica. Obiettivo del corso è quello di consentire agli studenti di allenarsi ad un colloquio in un contesto professionale e a perfezionare la grammatica. Il corso si propone di preparare gli studenti ad allenare le seguenti abilità: la capacità di comprendere testi specialistici di interesse, la capacità di gestire un dialogo con un utente in un contesto professionale. Il corso si propone inoltre di esercitare le abilità linguistiche nella stesura di materiale scientifico e la compilazione di documentazione clinica in lingua inglese. Il percorso formativo mira altresì a far apprendere agli studenti gli standard della ricerca EBP per analizzare i resti, porsi un quesito di ricerca e presentarne risultati e rilevanza. Durante le lezioni frontali sono previste analisi di testi scientifici in lingua inglese, indica-zioni sugli strumenti di ricerca ed esercitazioni pratiche per il consolidamento della terminolo-gia.

Examination Methods
The exam is an oral exam. An English-language presentation of a research work carried out by a team of 2 students.
The work consists in the presentation of a topic chosen to be identified among the topic addressed in the classroom.
In particular, the presentation will contain:
The description of an area of interest / topic with data, definitions, any descriptive video, statistics and comprehensive description of the topic background.
The description of a research question, Foreground or Background question.
The description of the research methods, such as keywords, such as databases, such as magazines, etc ...
The synthesis of the retrieved studies
The selection of one or more selected studies as evidence with the reasons for choosing
Content analysis of studies with the active reading mode.
The conclusions
The reflections on the relevance of the learned content
A glossary of scientific terms.
The group of students will prepare:
A printed copy of the slides or visual support material
A copy of files to be projected in ppt or Keynote or PDF.
The printing of the evidence.
