Learning outcomes

Obtain adequate knowledge on modern imaging modalities routinely used during diagnostic wwork-up of cardiovascular patients

Program

Radiology History, Roentgen, X rays discovery, X ray tube how is is asselbled and how it works. Contrast materials in Conventional imaging, positives, negatives. Digitas subtraction Angiography. Chest Radiologic Anatomy; mediastinum; Lungs anatomy on Chest X ray. Lobes, arterial and venous supply. Ultrasound principles; Doppler ,microbubbles contrast material. Computed Tomography principles. Hounsfield. Axial and Spiral Scan. Coronary CT angiograpy: use, indications, how to perform a scan, how to report. Coronary normal and variant anatomy, Main diagnostic aspects. Heart and coronaries anatomy through CT; Modified Detre classifications. Aortic anatomy, epicardial vessels. Magnetic Resonance: principles how to visualize and report the heart. Main indications for Coronary CT and Cardiac MRI.
