Learning outcomes

The primary goal of the study is to teach the students the pathophysiology, indications to surgical treatment and surgical management strategies of congenital heart disease in children and adults.

Program

The program of the course includes lectures on all types of congenital heart lesions, simple and complex, by using a pathophysiological approach. Particular emphasis will be placed in specific aspects of intraoperative management of extracorporeal circulation and principles of surgical therapy.
