Bibliography
Didactic methods
During the course, each disease and its corresponding etiologic agent will be extensively covered through oral lectures. Students who actively participate in the course will receive a comprehensive schedule outlining the entire module, including specific dates, classroom locations, and the subjects to be addressed in each lesson.
For students who are unable to attend the course in person, they will still receive valuable didactic support directly from the lecturer. Additionally, these students will have access to regularly updated study materials to ensure they have access to the latest information and resources.
Learning assessment procedures
The examination for this course will be conducted as an oral examination. During the exam, students will be presented with images related to the zoonotic etiologic agents covered in the course program. This evaluation method is designed to assess the student's proficiency in identifying these agents accurately.
The primary objective of the oral examination is to assess the depth of the student's knowledge regarding the diseases outlined in the course curriculum and their ability to recognize the significance of these diseases, as well as the appropriate diagnostic protocols.
The oral examination will cover a wide range of topics from the course, including but not limited to the etiologic agent, its biological life cycle, sources of infection, importance in public and animal health, pathology it causes, and various diagnostic methods.
The scoring system for the examination can reach a maximum of 30 points, with the highest distinction being "summa cum laude." This grading scale reflects the student's mastery of the subject matter and their ability to apply their knowledge effectively during the examination.
Evaluation criteria
The evaluation of students in this course is based on several key elements, and the final grade is determined using the following learning evaluation scale:
1. Knowledge and Understanding
- <18 (Insufficient): Fragmented and superficial knowledge of the course content, with errors in applying concepts and a lack of depth in understanding.
2. Ability to Apply Knowledge
- 18 - 20: Knowledge is sufficient but generally applied, with some uncertainties in the application of theoretical concepts.
- 21 - 23: Adequate knowledge of content and an ability to apply theoretical concepts, with a presentation that is generally straightforward.
3. Autonomy of Judgment and Critical Thinking
- 24 - 25: A good understanding of the course material, fair ability to apply knowledge, and the capacity to present content in an organized manner.
- 26 - 27: Precise, comprehensive knowledge of the content, a strong ability to apply knowledge, analytical skills, and clear, correct presentation.
- 28 - 29: Extensive, comprehensive, and in-depth knowledge of the content, effective application of concepts, strong analytical and synthesis skills, and a confident, correct presentation.
4. Communication Skills
- 30 - 30 cum laude: Exceptionally broad, complete, and in-depth knowledge of the content, mastery in applying the course material, excellent analytical, synthesizing, and interdisciplinary connection abilities, and exceptional mastery of presentation.
Students can achieve a final grade on this scale, ranging from <18 (insufficient) to 30 cum laude (exceptional). The grade reflects their performance across these evaluation criteria and their overall understanding and mastery of the course material.
