Contrast Radiology: Imaging and techniques (2020/2021)
The teaching is organized as follows:
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to understand the methodological approach to emergencies in radiological department, general notions of clinical pharmacology, the use of contrast media and the main techniques of contrastographic radiology. FIRST AID AND EMERGENCIES IN RADIOLOGICAL DEPARTMENT The course aims at providing the student with basic knowledge on emergency situations that he/she could face during his/her clinical practice. Particular attention will be devoted to those information which will be necessary to recognize and differentiate peculiare single clinical situations/ syndromes so as to usefully take part to the alert/management/treatment pathways when needed. During the course the student will be given the possibility to take part to Basic Life Support pratica lessons, which ami to provide him/her with the basic knowledge for a correct emergency cardio-pulmonary resuscitation. The student should be able to - recognize relevant clinical situation of emergency (cardiac arrest, respiratory failure, shock states, syncope, traumatic amputation, burns, ecc...) - recognize adequate priorities in emergency situations and activate the appropriate alarm pathway - be able to carry out an efficient cardio-pulmonary resuscitation - know both theoretical and practical steps to make a venous puncture. PHARMACOLOGY The course aims to provide to the student knowledgebase of clinical pharmacology, particularly pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic, useful in the control and management of contrast media CONTRAST MEDIA AND CONTRASTOGRAPHIC RADIOLOGICAL INVESTIGATIONS Acquire knowledge for the correct use of contrast media in Diagnostic Radiology. Apply the appropriate methods and techniques for studying the urogenital and digestive systems in relation to the clinical question. CONTRASTOGRAPHIC RADIOLOGICAL INVESTIGATIONS The course aims to teach students the main techniques of contrastographic radiology and the correct and appropriate use of contrast media.
