Provide basic knowledge on technology and architecture of CT scanners as well as on its dosimetry for a conscious use of this type of equipment.

Introduction
Outlines of components, the techniques of acquisition and image reconstruction
History of CT from a technological and clinical perspective
In the gantry of a CT: the couch, the X-ray tube, the DAS system
From single slice to multislice CT.
Detectors in CT: scintillation, gas, synthetic. Physical principles, use in single and multi-slice CT, architecture benches. Collimation and slice thickness in CT examinations.
Special technologies: quarter shift detector, flying focal spot.
TC and cardiology: gating techniques
Hybrid tomograph: CT - SPECT and CT - PET
CT in radiotherapy
Artifacts
