Learning outcomes

------------------------
MM: CHIMICA GENERALE E INORGANICA
------------------------
Aim of the course The Inorganic Chemistry module (2 CFU) is devoted to the students enrolled to TPALL course. The lessons are scheduled in the first semester of the first year. The course provides the basic concepts of inorganic chemistry in preparation for the subsequent organic chemistry study. Topics of the course are: atomic structure description (nuclei composition and electronic configuration) in order to understand the different reactivity of the various elements; chemical bond description (ionic, covalent) in order to justify the various inorganic compounds; the description of atomic and molecular interactions in order to realize the different aggregation state of the matter and their phase transitions. In particular, the liquid phase is described showing, for the solution, the main methods to measure the concentration of solutes. Some chemical reactions and their stoichiometric balance are presented. Requirements The basic knowledge concerning the numerical, algebra and analytical geometry calculations are required, such as typically given in the high school.
------------------------
MM: CHIMICA ORGANICA
------------------------
The course aims to bring students to a basic and essentially descriptive understanding of the physico-chemical properties of the main classes of organic compounds with particular emphasis on their implications in animal toxicity and environmental pollution. In particular, it will seek to highlight the central role played by few elements (Carbon, Hydrogen, Nitrogen and Oxygen) in the structure-reactivity of the organic compounds which are most relevant from the environmental point of view. At the end of the course the student will be able to recognize the functional groups present in a certain organic compound, predict the polarity and their main physico-chemical characteristics
------------------------
MM: FISICA APPLICATA
------------------------
The course aims to provide: • the foundations of the experimental method, which is the basis of modern science and technology disciplines • basic knowledge (physical quantities and physical laws) of mechanical phenomena, with examples and bioscience applications(biomechanics). At the end of the course students will apply their knowledge to solve physics problems.

Examination Methods

------------------------
MM: CHIMICA GENERALE E INORGANICA
------------------------
The verification of the Inorganic Chemistry module is tested by a written examination performed at the same time of the Organic Chemistry one. An eventually oral examination is programmed only in the case of a not complete sufficiency acquired in the written counterpart. Written test consists in a set of open questions and numeric calculation exercises. Typically examination takes 1 hour long. The number and the dates of the examinations are fixed according to the faculty instructions; time-schedule examinations are published at the beginning of each semester. To enrol for the final-examination the student must exclusively utilize the information processing system (Esse3).
------------------------
MM: CHIMICA ORGANICA
------------------------
The verification of the Organic Chemistry module is sustained by a written test performed simultaneously with that of the Gneral and Inorganic Chemistry. An eventual oral examination is required only in the event of a dubious written test. The written test consists in a set of open questions and numeric calculations to solve simple organic chemistry exercises. Typicall, the time available for the this text is 1 hour. The number and the dates of the examinations are decided in accordance with the Course-program instructions; time-schedule examinations are published at the beginning of each semester. To enrol for the final-examination the student must exclusively utilize the information processing system (Esse3).
------------------------
MM: FISICA APPLICATA
------------------------
Written exam consisting in simple problem solving. After passing the written test an oral examination will assess the understanding of the main concepts and examine the conduct of the written test.

Students with disabilities or specific learning disorders (SLD), who intend to request the adaptation of the exam, must follow the instructions given HERE
