Program
The first part is an introduction to work psychology, in which a theoretical framework will be built, defining the nature of work-related stress. Subsequently, an overview of the evidence relating to psychosocial factors of stress will be provided (e.g. factors related to the nature and characteristics of work, factors related to the organizational and social context). Subsequently, the main theoretical models (e.g. JDR, Karasek; ERI, Siegrist; COR, Hobfoll) and the methodologies for assessing work-related stress (e.g. INAIL methodology) will be explored in depth. Finally, the main prevention strategies will be presented (focus on the design of corrective interventions, their implementation and monitoring of their effectiveness). Reference texts: - Fraccaroli, F., & Balducci, C. (2022). Stress and psychosocial risks in organizations. Bologna: Il Mulino. - INAIL Manual
Bibliography
Didactic methods
There will be alternating moments of frontal presentation (in particular to deepen the description of the main theoretical constructs) and moments of exercise, which have the objective of actively involving students in the research and understanding of the assessment and intervention tools presented (provided by the teacher or available online). There will therefore be frequent references to the theoretical concepts addressed during the frontal lessons.
Learning assessment procedures
The assessment of the knowledge and skills acquired will be assessed at the end of the course, through a written test that will include both multiple choice questions (without penalty for incorrect answers) and open questions (short or long answer).
Evaluation criteria
The student must demonstrate that he/she has understood the theoretical notions related to work-related stress, and be able to explain them with appropriate technical language. He/she must be able to transfer the notions learned, making correct reference to the fundamental theoretical constructs and to the evaluation and intervention methodologies presented during the course (available in the reference texts).
