Laurea magistrale in Scienze motorie preventive ed adattate - Enrollment from 2025/2026I Regolamenti dei corsi di laurea e di laurea magistrale di scienze motorie prevedono che gli studenti possano completare il proprio piano didattico, frequentando oltre agli insegnamenti obbligatori anche delle attività formative a scelta, per approfondire alcuni aspetti tematici o settori di interesse, in coerenza con il proprio percorso formativo.
Le attività formative a scelta di ambito D sono indicate all’interno del piano didattico del corso di studio prescelto, mentre le attività formative di ambito F sono individuate da una apposita commissione di docenti. Queste ultime attività possono essere conferenze, seminari, webinar, altro e vengono acquisite con una valutazione e non con un voto in trentesimi.

Learning objectives
The course aims at introducing to the critical knowledge of:
1. the main theories of the sociology of communication;
2. the historical trends of mega-events in the context of globalization;
3. the theories of sociology of sport and the process of “sportivization”.
At the end of the course the students will be able to know:
1. the main theories and the methods of social research on sport events;
2. the tecniques of social research for the analysis of tv sport audience;
3. the conceptual repertoire and a specific lexicon to appropriately describe the empirical relations among sport, media and sponsor.

It is suggested to sustain before the general sociology exam.
Program
In the first part, the course will be dedicated to the analysis of the concept of communication, with reference both to the main theories and to the changes introduced by the transition from mass media to personal media.
It will go on to discuss the characteristics of sport mega-events in the context of globalisation, with particular reference to football and athletics.
In the last part I will analyse the concept of play and sport and the trend towards sportivization.
We shall explore, then, the trend towards social inclusion through sport and organized and unorganized physical activities. We will focus on Paralympic Games and the connected cultural changes.

Evaluation criteria
During the final exam students will answer to four open questions about the programs presented during the course. The attender students will have to pass a preliminary examination.
The students attending the course can also replace the book Dell’Aquila P. (a cura di) (2022), Sport e inclusione with a thesis in accordance with the professor.
Criteria for the composition of the final grade
The evaluation criteria will be: the comprehension of the main theories, the mastery of the disciplinary lexicon and the description of the interrelations among different topics.
