Learning outcomes
The Sustainable Wine Management course aims at examining the contexts, the specificities and the approaches to sustainability and sustainable development within the wine sector.
Knowledge.
The module on Sustainable Wine Market Analysis and Perspectives will focus on providing students with knowledge about sustainable development in general and its actors, the sustainability strategies implemented in the wine sector, and the different managerial motivations to include sustainability goals among business and supply chain objectives. In addition, knowledge will be provided regarding the interest and engagement of consumers for sustainability issues in the wine sector.
Skills.
At the end of the course, the student will acquire the ability to apply sustainability principles in corporate strategies, to take advantage of the sustainable practices adopted, and will be able to use sustainability as a strategic lever in wine businesses, wine supply chain, and wine clusters.

Sustainability trends, future market scenarios for sustainable wine making and marketing strategies.
The role of institutions in promoting sustainable wine.
Winegrowers views and motivations: drivers and barriers to the adoption of sustainable practices.
Consumer interest for the sustainability of wine.

Teaching methods.
The course includes: lectures using slides, in-depth seminars with the participation of experts, discussions with students, group work for deepening some specific issues and for a first application of the knowledge obtained to real cases.

Examination Methods
The final exam is based on oral examination aimed at ascertaining the achievement of the training objectives of the course.
In particular, the exam will be articulated in a presentation of the students project, carried out during the couse, and on a set of open questions to verify the acquisition of knowledge about the topics in the course.
The evaluation will take into consideration both the level of knowledge of the concepts, principles, theories and practices covered by the course, and the capacity for critical analysis and discussion on these topics and its application in the student's case study.
