Learning outcomes

The course aims to provide students with a knowledge of the major topics of etymological research in past and present.

Program

Contents:
The course presents the history and the methods of etymology, i.e. the study of the origins of the form and meaning of words. The course will also provide case studies taken mainly from Italian and other Romance languages.
