Learning outcomes

Acquisition of knowledge on the main characteristics of somatic growth, body composition, sexual development, nutrition and the most common medical problems from birth to adulthood.

Program

Introduction to pediatrics, with particular attention to growth, nutrition, puberty.
Some notes on body composition in infancy, childhood, adolescence.
Energy intake regulation and nutrient balance.
Obesity in children/adolescents: definition, risk factors, diagnosis, complications, prevention and treatment.
