Learning objectives
The student experiences and acquires the ability to: professional relationship with you and integrate into the team inform, involve and educate the person, family members or care-givers evaluation and periodontal monitoring – assessment – objective examination of the oral cavity implement professional oral hygiene operational techniques
Prerequisites and basic notions
The prerequisite for completing the 2nd-year internship is attendance at the 1st-year internship and the 1st and 2nd-year laboratories.
Program
The second-year internship is based on supervised care. At the end of the second year of the degree course, the student must: • Be able to identify dental anomalies and lesions; • Correctly recognize the cutting edge of a Gracey curette; • Define treatment in relation to gingival and periodontal pathologies; • Be able to correctly fill out the periodontal chart; • Use ultrasonic and sonic instruments; • Perform fissure sealing.

Didactic methods
The second-year internship is based on supervised care, in which the service, as directed by the tutor/supervisor, can be performed with the tutor/supervisor's co-presence, even if not physically alongside the intern, as long as supervision of the work is guaranteed.
Learning assessment procedures
The exam will be held in written format with 10 multiple choice questions.
Evaluation criteria
The evaluation will be based on the internship experience and the written exam.
