Learning objectives
The educational objectives of the lesson are: acquisition of knowledge of the fundamental biological mechanisms that regulate the functioning of the immune system and the pathological mechanisms of the immune system, in cancer. Knowledge of the general principles of vaccinotherapy and immunosuppression.
Prerequisites and basic notions
Preliminary knowledge of the immune system and oncological processes
Program
The lecture will clarify the new oncological therapies aimed at increasing the activation state of T lymphocytes, tumor immunogenicity and modifying the tumor microenvironment to support the cytotoxic capacity of T lymphocytes and their permanence within the mass. The concepts of primary and secondary resistance to therapies and how they can be hindered in order to improve patient survival will be explored.
