Learning objectives
The course aims at providing legal knowledge in the labour field focusing on those instruments that are necessary in order to deal with the emergencies deriving from natural catastrophes, hunger, wars, migrations, affecting social rights in the multi-level legal order. Consistently with the learning targets of the legal area of the master's degree in Emergency Govern-ance, also in this course students are trained to be capable of understanding the legal context and the fundamental principles of reference as well as of finding proper solutions to legal problems.

Program
The programme aims to provide an articulated analysis of the legal phenomenon, integrating different methodological approaches: the historical-philosophical method, which will place legal institutions and normative principles in the context of their historical evolution; the comparative method to examine where relevant the legal solutions adopted in other legal systems; the dogmatic-legal method, focusing on the interpretation and application of existing legal norms, through a systematic analysis of normative sources and case law.

Didactic methods
The lectures include a frontal lecture followed by a classroom learning assessment through anonymous interaction tools (wooclap). The last lesson is planned in dialogue form.
The video recordings and any supplementary and supporting teaching materials will be made available to students who adhere to the PA 110 e lode protocol, and also, as envisaged by the University guidelines, to students who are in particular situations of fragility, with disabilities or suffering from learning disorders (following notification of and in coordination with the Inclusion Unit) .
Learning assessment procedures
The final assessment is based on an oral examination. As an alternative to the oral interview, attending students may choose a group work on a case study.
Erasmus students can choose to take the exam in English
Evaluation criteria
The assessment is based on the following criteria:
- the depth and breadth of knowledge gained;
- the property of language
- analytical and argumentative capacity;
- capacity for critical reflection.
Criteria for the composition of the final grade
The final mark is based on a 30-point scale.
