Learning outcomes
The Cultural Heritage Law classes aim at studying the statutes in force concerning the protection of cultural heritage.
The starting point is represented by the study of the Provincia autonoma di Trento legislation. Besides, other topic are examined concerning the national statutes in particularly important fields. The knowledge of some basic law concepts is therefore necessary.
Students coming from other Universities are kindly requested to contact prof. Simonati.
At the end of the course, students will be able to comprehend and properly describe the normative fundamental elements about the protection of cultural Heritage, considering the divide of competences among institutional levels. Moreover, they will get the minimum know-how to directly access legal sources, especially at the Provincial level.
The contents are:
The regional general statute and its implementation rules;
the Provincia autonoma di Trento law February 17 2003, n. 1 (New provisions relating to cultural heritage) and execution rules;
the "new" agreement between Provincia autonoma di Trento and Archdiocese of Trento on the protection and enhancement of cultural heritage of religious interest belonging to ecclesiastical institutions and organizations;
the rules in the national Code about international movement and offense.
The classes will consist of the analysis of texts. They will take place through lectures, ample space will be devoted to discussion of key issues.

Moreover, for the study of national legislation, the handbook is R. TAMIOZZO, La legislazione dei beni culturali e paesaggistici - Guida ragionata, Giuffré, IV ed. 2009, limited to:
Chapter V, paras 1., 3., 5., 6., 9., 10., 11.;
Chapter VII, para 6.;
Chapter VIII.
