ability to use a suitable legislative apparatus in decision-making both in user intervention and in the organization.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
The course aims to provide the knowledge necessary for the study and understanding of fundamental rights, above all those that more than others may concern the profession of social worker. The course also addresses the problems re-lated to the forms and methods of protection of fundamental rights. In this way the course aims to make known first and then know how to use the legislative apparatus typically referable to fundamental rights and their protection. In this way, we will provide a wealth of knowledge and skills necessary for the highly complex social interventions that the specialist Social Worker has to face.

Program

Course topics:
- identification and analysis of the fundamental rights provided by the Italian Constitution.
- analysis of the main international documents that provide for systems of protection of fundamental rights
- analysis of the main instruments for the protection of fundamental rights provided by the Italian Constitution and other international systems of which Italy is part.

After some theoretical lessons, concrete cases will be examined. In particular:
- termination of pregnancy, criminal law, balancing of interests;
- gestation for others and procreative techniques: interest of the minor and international public order;
- public display of religious symbols: in particular, crosses and crucifixes, Lautsi case;
- end of life and living will: Englaro and Cappato cases: role of the legislator and judicial substitution.
