Program
Starting from the placement of the specialist social worker within the welfare governance system, the following will be discussed: a) the transformation of welfare systems, with the co-presence of private public actors and the Third Sector, guided by potentially divergent values and methods ; b) the tools for integrating well-being policies required by the multidimensional nature of social problems; c) social planning to fulfill the social worker's mandates of advocacy, emancipation and activation of groups and communities. The theoretical concepts will then be linked to the main operational planning tools: - programming and design tools, for the breakdown and reading of social complexities; - the methods of creating networks and partnerships, the co-construction of meaning between stakeholders, the detection of the transformative impact of projects, - the techniques of coordination, fundraising, reporting, dissemination and communication.
Didactic methods
The course is based on a part of frontal teaching, in which the various topics will receive a theoretical and normative framework and where some exemplary case studies will be provided. This is accompanied by a laboratory part, necessary for the direct experimentation of the concepts acquired. During the course we will try to enhance and consolidate the students' previous knowledge and experiences: to do this, direct interaction in the classroom will be encouraged. The laboratory part will also see the use of dynamic methods such as small group work and the online uploading of materials prepared by the students. Furthermore, the strong complementary link with the other modules will be maintained, to achieve the expected teaching and learning objectives.
Learning assessment procedures
The examination will consist of: a) a written test with open questions on the theoretical part covering the three modules; b) a project/protocol prepared by the student for the practical exercise following the instructions of the lecturers. The written test will be held on the same dates and at the same time in the classroom for all three modules. The protocols of the practical test, which the student will send by e-mail (TO ALL 2 TEACHERS), will be evaluated by the lecturers each for their part and then collectively for the whole work. . The overall mark for the course will be the average of the written mark and the mark obtained in the practical project test.
The written examination of the three modules and the assessment of the project must be passed by the student in the same examination session. If the student does not obtain a sufficient mark in one of the three modules, he/she must repeat the written examination of all three modules at the next examination in the same session or at another session. The three mock examination records must be submitted to the tutors no later than the end of the session in which the student takes the written examination. PROJECT GUIDELINES Before the final and definitive submission of the project, the lecturers will be available for intermediate checks and/or consultations up to a maximum of 2 times per lecturer for each project. The project can be done individually or in a group (maximum 3 people).
Evaluation criteria
CRITERIA FOR GRADING THE WRITTEN TEST Consistency of the answer with the question. Clarity and correctness of the theoretical and practical aspects. Degree of understanding of the subject matter. Use of appropriate and relevant language. Ability to make connections, where possible and relevant, between the topics of the 3 modules. ASSESSMENT CRITERIA Originality of the chosen topic. Relevance of the chosen topic to social service issues. Coherence between actions and objectives. Consistency between indicators - concepts - measurement tools/techniques. Presence and correct use of relevant and up-to-date bibliographical references.
