Academic calendar
The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. Learning outcomes
Al termine del corso lo studente deve essere in grado di: comprendere l’organizzazione biologica e i principi unitari che presiedono al funzionamento delle strutture degli organismi viventi e gli aspetti più rilevanti della biologia dell’uomo; descrivere le caratteristiche morfologiche e strutturali degli organismi viventi e dei virus;comprendere i meccanismi molecolari che sono alla base della trasmissione ereditaria dell’informazione genetica; descrivere i concetti fondamentali della Genetica, le malattie genetiche più comuni e le loro modalità di trasmissione.
Program
Durante il corso si tratterranno i seguenti argomenti:
- Caratteristiche generali degli organismi viventi.
- Le macromolecole della vita: DNA , RNA, proteine.
- Struttura e funzione della cellula: caratteristiche generali, separazione dei componenti subcellulari. Membrana plasmatica, citoplasma, nucleo.
- Comunicazioni intercellulari: regolazione autocrina, paracrina, endocrina.
- Le basi molecolari dell'informazione ereditaria. Caratteristiche del DNA, il modello di Watson e Crick. La replicazione del DNA.
- Espressione genica. Codice genetico, trascrizione, traduzione. Regolazione dell'espressione genica, i fattori trascrizionali. Composizione del genoma. Struttura tipo del gene eucariotico.
- Le mutazioni. I vari tipi e i meccanismi che le determinano. Mutazioni spontanee. Mutagenesi da agenti chimici e fisici.
- Organizzazione del genoma. Cromatina: composizione e struttura.
- I cromosomi: modelli strutturali, il cariotipo, anomalie.
- Il ciclo cellulare. La mitosi.
- Riproduzione sessuata e meiosi. Gametogenesi. Errori meiotici: le aneuploidie. Il dosaggio genico e l'inattivazione del cromosoma X, la determinazione del sesso nell'embrione.
- Genetica. Trasmissione dei caratteri ereditari, leggi di Mendel. Genotipo e fenotipo, ereditarietà autosomica e legata al sesso. Interpretazione e discussione di alberi genealogici. Genetica dei gruppi sanguigni. Modalità di trasmissione delle malattie genetiche nell'uomo, calcolo del rischio. Diagnostica molecolare.
- Genetica dei tumori. Mutazioni somatiche e cancro. Geni che controllano la proliferazione cellulare: proto-oncogeni, oncogeni, geni oncosopressori.
- Genetica di popolazioni. Frequenze alleliche e genotipiche in una popolazione. Legge di Hardy-Weinberg.
