Advanced/Professional Development course in English for the World of Work: Focus on professional speaking and writing skills
The Advanced, Professional Development Course “English for the World of Work”, now in its eigth edition, has been designed to respond to the needs of the Italian workplace, which increasingly requires specialized linguistic competence. The course aims, therefore, to strengthen and develop the participants’ English speaking and written skills in professional contexts. The course is mainly addressed to professionals already at work and to university students, although it may be highly useful to researchers, assistant researchers and doctoral students as well.

How to apply
Admission requirements :
To enter the Postgraduate Courses, one must have the following:
(a) a bachelor's degree awarded in accordance with Ministerial Decree No. 270 of 2004 or Ministerial Decree No. 509 of 1999; (b) a university degree of at least three years' duration,
according to the previous regulations;
(c) degree issued abroad, recognized as suitable according to the regulations in force.
To enter the Professional Development Courses, one must possess:
high school degree or a title issued abroad recognized as suitable according to the regulations in force.
Additional qualifications: minimum level of proficiency in English language B1.
Evaluation criteria for admission :
This course aims to develop and improve English skills in both speaking and writing, training professionals to express themselves clearly and effectively in a foreign language, as required in specific professional contexts. In particular, the course will cover: active participation to in person or videoconference meetings; participation in conferences and webinars; design and delivery of workplace presentations; writing of reports.
During the course, special attention will be paid to:
a) Strengthening grammatical, lexical and phraseological structures that are pertinent to the workplace
b) Acquiring awareness of multiple registers, both spoken and written, that will allow professionals to express themselves clearly and efficiently
c) Practicing negotiation in English, focusing also on building and maintaining positive relations with colleagues and other professionals.
