Learning objectives

The course intends to teach the key elements of school planning and evaluation: the given information will be used to understand what is happening in the school system at every level, referring to educational processes and institutional innovations. The course will present essential knowledge to develop professional skills, assuming a perspective that considers the school as horizon of reflection and action, characterized by high complexity, and that implies a vision of evaluation not as simple learning measurement.

Prerequisites and basic notions

Program

The course aims to provide the conceptual frameworks and methodological tools according to the teacher's didactic action with respect to curricular planning and school evaluation. The context within which the course is located is that of the school of autonomy and the national guidelines which require a re-reading of programming and evaluation in the perspective of a teaching based on skills.
The learning outcomes expected at the end of the course are:
- to know the cultural reasons that orient towards a teaching based on skills;
- to know the main theoretical models regarding programming and evaluation in kindergarten and primary school;
- understand how to design educational courses and evaluate them in kindergarten and primary school;
-how to manage educational contexts in kindergarten and primary school;
-know how to use the specific terms related to curricular planning and skills assessment in an informed way;
-knowing how to analyze the different types of projects in order to meet the needs of different learning styles;
-be able to critically analyze the educational interventions planned in the exercises during the course, identifying points for improvement and potential;
-know how to design a skills assessment system.
In order to pursue the educational objectives of the course, the following themes will be addressed:
- evolution of the school system and of the debate on the curriculum;
- socio-affective dimension of the school experience: construction of the group of pupils;
- act encouraging as a relational style of the teacher useful for promoting learning and establishing an inclusive climate;
- from programming by objectives to programming by skills: cultural reasons and didactic implications;
-Kerr map as an analyzer of the different design modes; -different types of classroom activities planning;
- characteristics of teaching by skills; - forms and tools of evaluation;
-evaluation of skills: the trifocal perspective;
-construction of evaluation rubrics and other evaluation tools. In carrying out the program, attention will always be paid to both the kindergarten and the primary school context.

eTwinning
