Learning objectives
The course aims to enhance knowledge of the structure of Italian vocabulary and textuality, with a focus on the didactic implications for teaching Italian as a second language.
Prerequisites and basic notions
Italian language grammar skills.
Program
The course will cover the following topics:
- lexical competence and textual competence;
- the lexical system and its articulations: semantic relations, polysemy;
- the classification of texts into types and genres;
- journalistic texts, gastronomic texts, literary texts: text types, text genres and linguistic choices.
Didactic methods
Synchronous lectures including discussion between the teacher and the class.
Asynchronous workshops.
Learning assessment procedures
Learning assessment will be based on two components:
• an individual workshop, to be completed asynchronously;
• a final test, administered during the last lesson, to assess knowledge of the topics covered during the course.
Evaluation criteria
The student's overall work will be assessed using the following indicators, based on the knowledge acquired and the ability to rework it personally: Unsatisfactory – Satisfactory – Good – More than good – Very good – Excellent.
