M-PED/01 - PEDAGOGY, THEORIES OF EDUCATION AND SOCIAL EDUCATION

Learning objectives

- Knowledge of the central topics of educational theory and the main reference theories; - Critically reflect on educational issues and experiences, using pedagogical terminology and the fundamental concepts of the discipline appropriately; - Be familiar with the central themes of intercultural education and the main theories of reference; - Understand and apply the techniques and teaching methods of intercultural education.

Prerequisites and basic notions

No special prerequisites are required

Program

-Pedagogy, education, teaching, training: epistemological clarifications; - Formal elements of pedagogical discourse; - A brief history of pedagogy; -Pedagogical personalism; - Educational challenges and possibilities of the current era; -Transcultural, multicultural and intercultural pedagogy; Models of encounter-conflict that have occurred over the millennia; - Stereotypes and prejudices; - Intercultural educational interventions; - Cooperative Learning.

Didactic methods

Lessons will be structured to encourage interactivity and participation; therefore, they will be characterized by moments of lecturing and cooperative work (exercises, simulations, thematic insights, etc.).

Learning assessment procedures

Two open questions on the topics covered in class and a cooperative learning project.

Students with disabilities or specific learning disorders (SLD), who intend to request the adaptation of the exam, must follow the instructions given HERE

Evaluation criteria

The exam will assess: knowledge of the concepts covered in class; the ability to critically reflect on the concepts and theories presented; the use of pedagogical language; the ability to design cooperative learning projects.
