Learning objectives
The laboratory aims to accompany people through a path of reflection on the research process that uses quantitative techniques. This process begins with the formulation of a hypothetical research question, the identification of a sample, the choice/construction of data collection tools, with particular attention to quantitative tools, the collection of data, their organization in a database in electronic format, and subsequent processing. ************************************************** **************** Expected results (both in terms of knowledge and understanding and in terms of ability to apply knowledge and understanding) Through practical examples it will be possible to reflect on what it means to ask yourself research – in reference to the theoretical questions and also to the specific settings to which this question can be applied within the human sciences – and how these questions are operationally declined through the use of variables. Attending the laboratory will allow you to acquire some specific skills, in particular the ability to: - start a research process by adapting it to specific settings; - identify/build tools for data collection; - collect data; - use the most common statistical techniques for analyzing quantitative data, both in the field of descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. ************************************************** **************** A final test is scheduled to verify the skills acquired. ************************************************** **************** Recipients (MAXIMUM NUMBER OF STUDENTS ADMITTED: 40) The laboratory is aimed at students of Master's Degree courses, preferably in the first year. The contents of the course are offered at a basic level, and no specific entry skills are required. The knowledge/skills provided by the methodological courses offered in the three-year degree courses in Psychological Sciences for Education may be useful. Attendance at the laboratory is mandatory. To attend the workshop you must register at the following link by March 15th: https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=kTYadtrcCEC7g7fSmIJko04KbLkLjohKmE6Udiu-oLJUMlJVSUkwUEpZMzNLVFFZWVNHVzc3TUVWUi4u
