Learning objectives

GENERAL LEARNING OBJECTIVES. *To know and understand the psychobiological and neuropsychological bases of behaviours, in particular in learning contexts. *To know and understand research and assessment methods concerning the psychological phenomena characterizing individuals and groups. *To apply the psychological theories to the functioning of individuals, groups, and organisation in order to observe and analyse behaviours, and in particular phenomena concerning learning and personal and social changes. SPECIFIC LEARNING OBJECTIVES. *To acquire the core knowledge concerning the neurobiological mechanisms underlying cognitive functions. *To acquire knowledge concerning neuronal plasticity processes, in terms of learning and environmental adaptation and recovery after lesions. *To acquire the necessary know-how about learning processes that can contribute to the design of learning and rehabilitation interventions. *To develop the capability to have a critical and critic reading of specialistic literature concerning neuropsychology. *To develop the capability to use psychological tools to evaluate learning processes. *To develop basic competencies for scientific research in neuropsychology.

Prerequisites and basic notions

To better deal with the topics of the course, students will need to know the principle of psychobiology and brain functioning

The program will address the main topics of neuropsychology, in particular:
- hemispheric differences and disconnection disorders ù
- apraxias
- aphasias
- attention disorders
- spatial representation disorders
- body representation disorders
- memory deficits
- cognitive decline

Didactic methods

Frontal lessons.
For interested students, it will be possible to attend a workshop in which clinical cases and tools for assessing deficits will be presented

Written exam with open questions

Evaluation criteria

The following will be evaluated: the degree of depth of the contents, the ability to organize the exhibition; the ability of critical reasoning on the study carried out; proficiency in the use of specialized vocabulary
