Learning outcomes

Provide the student with the ability to apply the research content and methodology already addressed in the study plan to issues or situations of their professional practice.
Develop critical analysis skills of the literature to deduce application hypotheses in nursing, with respect to some transversal issues of professional practice
Integrate background and foreground knowledge with the methodological criteria of EBP and teaching methodology
Read, explain and evaluate primary and secondary sources
Use scientific evidence and apply it to decision making;
Decline the results of context and patient / family studies considering the perspective of patients, caregivers and experts
Discuss similarities and differences and evidence on the skills of nurses / midwives in planning, clinical judgment, and documentation
Activate strategies that favor the transfer of research results into clinical practice;
Develop communication and collaboration skills with other professional figures in compliance with specific skills.


Analysis of some care issues related to nursing / obstetric intervention areas taken from professional practice and centered on patient and family problems: framing of the problem, in-depth analysis and analysis of the evidence and decision-making
Choice of a primary article or study from the evidence proposed in progress or a new source published in a scientific journal.
analyze the study,
present it and elaborate a methodological comment, (construction of a CAT)
analyze the results with those already presented in progress or emerged from similar studies and provide application indications. Exclusively research studies (primary studies), systematic reviews or meta-analyzes (systematic reviews or meta-analysis) but not narrative reviews (rewiew, clinical review, evidence report).

Examination Methods

The exam consists in the production of CAT of a study.
The issues may relate to areas proposed during the course relating to nursing - obstetric interventions centered on the needs of the patient and family. The selected study can be among those used during the lessons or a new, more recent study on the same topic. Any other issues can be agreed upon.
The report must contain all the elements indicated in the guide provided by the teacher and subsequently presented in the zoom session.

Students with disabilities or specific learning disorders (SLD), who intend to request the adaptation of the exam, must follow the instructions given HERE
