Learning objectives

The course aims to analyse the main characteristics of the agri-food system, which represents one of the most important sectors of the economy in terms of production, employment and trade in Italy. It has the objective of encouraging understanding of decision-making and organizational processes in the context of agro-food chains and clusters. It will increase the knowledge on agro-food corporate and cooperative strategies in relation to the changes of the economic-social context and consumer expectations. At the end of the course, new skills will be acquired in knowing how to analyse the specific and most current dynamics of agri-food clusters, in particular in terms of innovation, sustainability, health, safety, tradition. Public and social purposes of agri-food clusters (for example in terms of environmental impact, nutrition and intellectual property rights) will be outlined.
