Legend | Type of training activity (TTA)
TAF (Type of Educational Activity) All courses and activities are classified into different types of educational activities, indicated by a letter.
Type D and Type F activities
- tutte queste iniziative richiedono, per l'acquisizione dei relativi CFU, il superamento di una prova di verifica delle competenze acquisite, secondo le indicazioni contenute nella sezione "Modalità d'esame" della singola attività;

Learning outcomes
The course "Data Visualization Laboratory" is an optional "type f" activity, which allows to students to obtain 3 CFU, once a final examination is passed. In particular:
- The course is available only to students that are regularly enrolled to the academic year 2021/202.
- All CdL and CdLM students of the School of Economics and Management can register. The course is aimed in particular at second and third year CdL students. In case of limitations to the total number of places available, requests for participation will be considered following the registration order, considering that CdL students will have priority over CdLM students.
- The lessons will be delivered online through Zoom meetings. All the lessons will be registered for later viewing.
- The course will take place in the first semester; there will be just one course.
- The course consists of 18 hours of exercise lessons and tutorial activity (plus 2 hours of final examination).
The calendar of the lessons will be available as soon as possible.
Tutor: to be defined
Registrations are open from the 1st of October 2021 to the 30th of November 2021.
Please, register through the elearning platform (Moodle). Students without a university IT account can ask to be registered by writing an email to the coordinator of the course. All other students must use the procedure on Moodle.
Program
In recent years, Data Presentation has established itself as one of the most requested skill on LinkedIn. At the same time, Tableau and Power BI have established themselves as the reference software for data visualization in the modern data science. In addition to providing an intuitive environment for managing, manipulating and displaying significant amounts of data, these software also provide an easy interface with R, Python and MATLAB, useful for more complex analyzes. The program of the course includes some lessons on Data Visualization and on the software Power BI:
- Databases and data types;
- Selection and analysis of data with the software Excel;
- Managing and structuring data for Power BI;
- Introduction to Data Visualization;
- Power BI capabilities and models of data visualization;
- Implementation of a data visualization model with a dashboard.

Examination Methods
The final examination, which will very likely take place online through a Zoom meeting, will consist in a written exam, followed by an oral examination, if necessary, on the use of the software Power BI. There will be just one date for the final examination.
