Corso tenuto dal Prof. Edward Kinsman
At the end of this class, the student will know more about international geopolitics:
• Is it necessary to be aware of international difficulties? Why ?
• Is it necessary to include Geopolitics in Business? Why?
• Does Geopolitics have some impact on companies? Why? Which ones?
• Is there some links between Geopolitics and investors?
• Do investors use the Geopolitical Risk Index? Why?
• Which challenges are companies facing international geopolitics?
Program
A study of geopolitics “directs the student toward the important and enduring, as opposed to the trivial and
the transient” (Gray, The Geopolitics of the Nuclear Era 1977; pg. 2). It will help student to understand some deep
differences between the West/East and North/South geopolitical goals.
To succeed in an international environment, a global vision, and an understanding of the complexity of the international
playing field is required.
Geopolitics and local cultures shape the milieu in which countries exist and co-exists. International managers must
understand the uncertainty of International Relations and Negotiations around the world post Covid 19, presently with the
Ukraine’s invasion, the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, Israel and the Palestinians, the Uigurs in China, the world rising
water, and at the same time the lack of drinking water, Iran and Afghanistan women policy, the Brexit, etc.
This course on International Geopolitics Negotiations & Relations aims to provide the requisite skills for the global
market. The course aims at highlighting the opportunities and challenges associated with doing and accompanying
business abroad within the frameworks of globalization and de-globalization.
Teaching Methodology will include interactive lectures, short videos, in-class group work, case studies, group
assignments and interactive class activities.
Periodo di svolgimento: Lezioni nel secondo semestre:
- 23 and 30 March (10-12.30) - VM3;
- 24 and 31 March (14.30-17) - Sala 1.
