The teaching is organized as follows:

Learning objectives

The course is included in the learning area Law, New Technologies, and Sustainability. It aims, in particular, to complete the advanced knowledge of the complex dimensions of sustainability as ecosystem integrity, economic efficiency, and social equity, also with an adequate deepening of the relationship between circular economy, and environmental sustainability, and sustainability law with particular attention to the agri-food perspective and the instances of conservation of natural resources as strategic resources and protection of biological diversity.
At the end of the course, the student will have acquired the ability to understand and analyze the differentiated regulatory systems that, starting from different logics, integrate to complete the legal approach to sustainability, with particular attention to the economic logic that qualify it and to the multilevel and transnational functioning of law in the contemporary age.
By the end of the course students will also have acquired understanding of the concept of sustainability as it results from different regulatory perspectives, that integrate, according to multilevel and transnational logics, into the legal approach to sustainability. Students will also be able to solve actual problems using a ‘compliance’ and ‘conflict-preventing’ approach. Work in groups and written assignments based on Problem Based Solving (PBS) methods will provide students with the ability to assess the implications of the regulatory framework, develop appropriate reasoning and terminology, and formulate independent judgments. The teaching method is aimed at improving continuous learning skills.
