This course offers an introduction to the properties of semiotic processes in natural language and to textual semiotics. Special attention will be devoted to the study of language and mind and to the computational theory of mind in a semiotic perspective. In the first part textual semiotics will be addressed from a more theoretical perspective, in the second part of the course it will be applied to the analysis of some narrative texts.
