Learning outcomes
The course aims to critically educate the student to the knowledge of the anatomical structures of the oral cavity, the main etiopathogenetic mechanisms of infectious, inflammatory, autoimmune, preneoplastic, benign and malignant neoplastic diseases of odontostomatological interest.
• Introduction to special odontostomatological disease
• Anatomy of the head / neck
• Anatomy and histology of the oral cavity
• Oral cavity disorders with infectious oral cavity etiopathogenesis
• Oral mucosa with autoimmune etiopathogenesis
• Oral cavity disorders with flogistic and / or reactive etiopathogenesis
• Gold-facial granulomatous
• Pre-cancerous manifestations and squamocellular carcinoma of the oral cavity

Introduction to special odontostomatological disease
• Macroscopic head / neck anatomy: oral cavity, paranasal sinuses, pharynx (pharynx liver-laryngitis), neck, vascularization and innervation of the head-to-neck structures
• Macroscopic anatomy of the oral cavity: the superior of the horse, jaw, tongue, palate of the oral cavity, the oral floor, major salivary glands, dental apparatus, vascularization and innervation of the oral cavity, sinuses Jaws and paranasals. Microscopic anatomy: histological analysis of the constituent tissues of the oral cavity and its anomalies
• Oral cavity diseases with oral cavity infectious etiopathogenesis: viruses (herpes viruses, coxsackie virus, human papilloma virus), bacteria (actinomycosis, tuberculosis, gonorrhea, syphilis), of mycoses (oral candidiasis). Focal infection theory.
• Oral mucosa with autoimmune etiopathogens: recurrent apical stomatitis, Behcet syndrome, lichen planus, drug and amalgam lichenoid reactions, necrotic ulcerative stomatitis, multiforme erythema, penophicosis, penicillin, allergic contact stomatitis and oral allergic syndrome
• Oral cavity disorders with flogistic and / or reactive etiopathogenesis: fibrous, pyogenic granuloma, peripheral gigantic cellular granuloma, peripheral ossification fibrous, fecal epidermis
• Golden-facial granulomatous: pathogenesis of granulomatous diseases, Crohn's disease, Melkersson-Rosenthal syndrome, sarcoidosis, foreign body granulomatous
• Pre-cancerous manifestations and squamous cell carcinomas of the oral cavity: dysplasia and cellular atipia, leukoplakia, erythroplakia, chili aptitude, squamous cell carcinoma (etiopathogens, risk factors), oral cavity biopsy (timing and execution mode, reading of report

Examination Methods
The examination at the end of the course will take place in two phases:
- first written stage. The student will be subjected to clinical-radiographic documentation on a clinical case by requesting to produce a written discussion, of what is deduced from such documentation, in the context of diagnostic hypothesis, etiopathogenesis, treatment options and prognosis.
-second practical phase. The student will be asked to visit a patient and to present, based on the clinical and instrumental data collected, the diagnostic, therapeutic and prognostic hypotheses of the case under consideration.

Riconoscimento carriera pregressa

Per valutazione della carriera pregressa, si intende il riconoscimento dei Crediti Formativi Universitari (CFU) e degli esami sostenuti presso un altro corso di laurea dell’Università di Verona o di altro ateneo o a seguito del conseguimento di una precedente laurea. La valutazione della carriera pregressa avviene formalmente solo in seguito all'immatricolazione o al trasferimento, oppure dopo l’avvenuto passaggio interno da un corso ad un altro dell’Ateneo di Verona Pertanto non sono previste valutazioni preventive della carriera pregressa. Ai fini del riconoscimento della carriera pregressa saranno presi in considerazione solo le attività didattiche completate e registrate entro la data di presentazione della domanda di valutazione. Non saranno considerati esami parzialmente superati. Possono essere riconosciuti attività formative nell’ambito dei crediti elettivi fino ad un massimo di 5 CFU. Non saranno riconosciuti esami superati nei corsi di laurea delle Professioni sanitarie, ad esclusione di esami ritenuti completamente equipollenti sulla base dei contenuti dei relativi programmi. Il Collegio Didattico o altro organo delegato valuterà e delibererà il riconoscimento della carriera pregressa analizzando, i programmi degli esami superati, i CFU assegnati, la congruità delle tipologie e dei contenuti delle attività formative con gli obiettivi formativi specifici delle attività previste dal CdLM a Ciclo Unico in Odontoiatria e Protesi Dentaria dell’Ateneo di Verona, incluse le attività pratiche. I CFU acquisiti a seguito della valutazione della carriera pregressa, possono consentire l’ammissione ad anni successivi al primo e quindi l’abbreviazione di carriera, a condizione che si realizzino i seguenti presupposti:

Sbarramenti

E’ consentito il passaggio da un anno di corso al successivo, esclusivamente agli studenti che, al termine della sessione autunnale, abbiano superato gli esami previsti nel piano didattico per quell’anno di corso con un debito didattico massimo di 31 CFU.
Gli esami che rientrano nel debito didattico devono essere superati prima di sostenere gli esami di profitto del successivo anno di corso.
