Learning outcomes
a) the knowledge of the history of Europe in the mediaeval Millennium; b) competence in the interpretation and in the analysis of the historical settings in which the students live, also in connection with their specific profession of educator; c) in the meantime students are directed to improve the methods of historical research guided by the teacher, through the study of the specific case of the figure and the times of Mathilda of Canossa.

These goals are pursued :
a)with the study of the handbook: P. GOLINELLI, Breve storia dell’Europa medievale, Bologna, Pàtron, 2001, explained in the course.
b)MAIN COURSE:
Mathilda of Canossa, a Woman in the Heart of the Middle Ages
to prepare with notes from the lessons, and the study of the medieval source introduced to the students, during lessons:
