Learning outcomes

Science and power in contemporary literature. The aim is to explore the ways in which the exchange between science and literature contributed to forge the general culture in Western world.

Program

Science and power in contemporary literature. The aim is to analyse the ripercussions in the world literature of debates concerning the role of science and technology in contemporary society (late XIXth and XXth centuries) with particular reference to the dynamics of war and peace.
Materials for discussion and for preparing the exam will be provided in PDF format and uploaded in advance in the Professor's home page. Those who are unable to partecipate in the lectures are allowed to choose one or more books in a list that will be uploaded in autumn on the professor's home page.
