Learning outcomes

This course aims to introduce students to the methods and tools necessary for the study opera as the most important type of western music theatre of the past four centuries. "La traviata" (1853) by Verdi, one of the most representative examples of the genre, will function as a case study, on which we will try out methods and refine tools.

The course focuses on Giuseppe Verdi's opera "La traviata".

The course includes audio and video examples.
