Learning outcomes

The course focuses on music, society and culture in Renaissance European courts.

Program

The course is divided into two parts. The first focuses on the role and significance of music as a medium of communication between men and the construction of social groups, both today and in the past. The second is a historical overview and analysis of the different uses of music in Renaissance European courts.
