Learning outcomes

The course aims to analyse the figure and work of Pier Paolo Pasolini in relation to the Italian literary history of the twentieth century.

Program

The figure of Pier Paolo Pasolini will be located in the Italian literary panorama of the Forties-seventies of the twentieth century.
In particular, it will be given space to study poetic experience and collaboration with newspapers and magazines.

Students are required to read the following books:

Pier Paolo Pasolini, «Le ceneri di Gramsci», preferably in the edition of the Meridiani Mondadori: by Walter Siti, «Tutte le poesie», Milano, Mondadori, 2003, tomo I. They are good also other editions (for example Garzanti), as long as in the full version.

Pier Paolo Pasolini, «Scritti corsari» and Pier Paolo Pasolini, «Lettere luterane», in Pier Paolo Pasolini, «Saggi sulla politica e sulla società», by Walter Siti and Silvia De Laude ; with an essay by Piergiorgio Bellocchio ; history edited by Nico Naldini, Milano, Mondadori, 1999. They are good also other editions (for example Garzanti), as long as in the full version.

Examination Methods

Students are required to write an essay. It will be agreed with the teacher and delivered two weeks before the examination.
It will be followed by an oral interview.
