M-EDF/01 - PHYSICAL TRAINING SCIENCES AND METHODOLOGY

Learning outcomes

Acquisition of basic teaching and methodological skills of the main and most popular music fitness activities present in the fitness scene. Students will know the role of music fitness in its various forms within motor activities aimed at maintaining a good state of health and well-being. They will be able to direct simple lessons using the instructor-specific conducting techniques and basic teaching techniques.

Program

Main types of group fitness activities.
Role of cardiovascular exercise, strength, flexibility in the development and maintenance of physical fitness and health. (Position Stand-ACSM).
Acute and chronic effects of the activities considered.
Cardiovascular training in collective fitness.
Role of music and musical structure, basic cueing in the fitness group lesson.
Basic steps in aerobic gymnastics and step: proper execution and potentially dangerous exercises.
Basic teaching methods of the main phases of a "standard" lesson.
Different didactic methods in choreographic construction and functional step.
Strength training: muscle conditioning in collective fitness.
Principles and methods of muscle strengthening techniques with and without overloads.
Movement terminology and knowledge of the biomechanical action of the major muscle districts.
Basic Body Muscle Fitness Exercises and Fitness Class Specific Tools: Correct Performance, Potentially Dangerous Movements.
Training of joint mobility in collective fitness.
The trainer's professionalism: specific communication techniques.
Evaluation and monitoring of fitness group activities.

Examination Methods

The exam will evaluate the theoretical and practical skills acquired by the student through:
- Evaluation of a written questionnaire, containing multiple and open answer questions;
- Evaluation of the practical conduct of some phases of different classes of classroom fitness lessons, using the basic didactic techniques learned during the course. Presentation of the lesson descriptive (paper and / or file format). The type of the lesson to be submitted to the exam will be determined by the teacher during the course.
- Evaluation of the exercise book to be updated during lectures and presentation on the exam day.
- Evaluation of participation and engagement during the course.
- At the discretion of the teacher, an oral interview may be held.
