Learning outcomes

The course aims at providing general knowledge on the history of the languages and literary civilisation of the Slavic peoples in order to facilitate the learning of various Slavic languages and literatures. By the end of the course, students will: 1) know the basics of the history and culture of Slavic peoples and the evolution of the Slavic languages; 2) know how to apply basic philological and linguistic knowledge; 3) develop independent judgments on the main topics of the course and express them in a coherent and correct way.

3. diachronic approach to phonological changes
4. Slavic cultures in history

6. language policies in the Slavic countries.

Examination Methods

The assessment is carried out by an oral examination, which will verify the competences acquired during the classes. The questions will deal with the topics mentioned in the program.

The assessment will consider the following criteria:

- Content correctness and completeness
- Achievement of adequate analysis abilities
- Clarity in the exposition, arguing ability and knowledge of the subject-specific lexicon.
