Learning outcomes
The laboratory aims to provide students with the basic methodological and technological knowledge in the field of computer assisted translation. At the end of the laboratory the students: - will know and will be able to autonomously use the main IT resources for the management of texts in various formats, and CAT (Computer Assisted Translation) technologies; - will be able to create and manage translation memories and additional sectoral linguistic resources to support translation; - will know and will be able to autonomously use the main IT resources for automatic translation and will acquire the specialized instrumental skills for the posting-editing of automatically translated texts.

Examination Methods
Modalità di valutazione: orale (parte a scelta dello studente + colloquio). La prova d’esame consta di un colloquio orale di circa 20 minuti così costituita:
1) discussione di un’attiva svolta a casa dallo studente/dalla studentessa prima dell’appello d’esame, a titolo prettamente esemplificativo: traduzione di uno o più testi brevi con uno strumento CAT, attività di post-editing, analisi di uno o più output di Machine Translation, ecc. sulla base delle attività svolte a lezione;
2) verifica delle conoscenze teoriche apprese nel corso delle lezioni.
Particolarmente apprezzata sarà la capacità del discente di fare collegamenti con altre discipline del corso di laurea, nonché la partecipazione nel corso delle lezioni.
