PHYSIOTHERAPY IN MUSCULOSKELETAL DISORDERS (2020/2021)
The teaching is organized as follows:
Learning outcomes
Provide basic knowledge of rheumatology, orthopedics, traumatology and skeletal muscle imaging, instrumental physical therapy, methodology and rehabilitative pathways in musculoskeletal disorders. MODULE: RHEUMATOLOGY Acquire the essential knowledge to understand the main rheumatological diseases through: the anatomical and functional bases of the osteo-articular and musculoskeletal structures, the physio-pathological principles of rheumatic diseases, elementary semeiotics and principles of differential diagnosis, classification, evaluation scales and epidemiology of the main rheumatic diseases, especially those most susceptible to physiotherapy treatment. MODULE: ORTHOPEDICS, TRAUMATOLOGY AND IMAGING SKELETAL MUSCLE Acquire the fundamental knowledge of the main morbid conditions of the traumatological and non-traumatological musculoskeletal system of adults and children and the principles of surgical treatment, bloodless of physiotherapeutic interest. Acquire the knowledge and understanding of the main imaging instrumental tests used in facilities and in traumatology. MODULE: PHYSICAL THERAPY Acquire the fundamental knowledge regarding the application of physical energies for therapeutic purposes in the rehabilitation field with the relative principles, evidence of efficacy and contraindications. MODULE: PHYSIOTHERAPY METHODOLOGY IN SKELETAL MUSCLE DISORDERS Perform the differential functional assessment of the different structural and functional alterations in the musculoskeletal area especially focusing on the limitations of articulations, pain and contractural conditions, muscular deficit, alterations of sensitivities, articular instability, postural alterations, movement alterations. Knowing the possible causes of the aforementioned alterations and knowing how to identify them in the individual patient, knowing the possible consequences and building the hypotheses of causal relationships as the basis of physiotherapy diagnosis, knowing the possible treatments and knowing how to apply the simplest. MODULE: REHABILITATION PATHS IN THE SKELETON MUSCLE DISORDERS To know the rehabilitative pathways of the main musculoskeletal conditions of physiotherapeutic interest such as: results of orthopedic-traumatological surgery of the lower limbs, upper limbs and spine; lumbago and cervicalgia; rheumatic diseases. Know and know how to apply the main outcome indicators to measure clinical improvement of the patient.
